NATIONAL EVENTS
Call to Support Morgan’s Basketball Teams (Alumni Adopt-A-Game Program)
The National Alumni Association has asked each Alumni Chapter to adopt and attend one Morgan State home basketball game. The DC Chapter has selected the games on February 11, 2012 when the Lady Bears and the Men’s teams will host the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Lady Bears start things off at 2:00 PM followed by the Men at 4:00 PM. Wear your school colors and come out and cheer the Bears. Reserved tickets are $15.00. Join the chapter in supporting and encouraging our nationally-recognized teams. Bring $15.00 to the January Chapter Meeting on January 15, 2012. We want to purchase a block of reserved tickets so that we can all sit together.
Morgan Choir at the Music Center at Strathmore
The Morgan State Choir along with the Smithsonian Institution’s Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will present “Ellington A Sacred Concert” on Sunday February 19, 2012 at 4:00 PM. The Chapter has 15 orchestra seats reserved at a cost of $45.00 each. We have sold 6 tickets so far. If you are interested please contact Gina Harrell of the chapter’s program committee on

ginajimmie@aol.com. If these 15 tickets sell we have and opportunity to increase our number, but we have to know soon. The choir’s concert at the Strathmore with Kathleen Battle was a sell out and one of the many memorable moments for “Fair Morgan.”

The HLC’s 27th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast is on Saturday, January 14, 2011 at Martin’s West in Baltimore. Our chapter supports this event by purchasing an ad in their souvenir program and one table for 10. The cost to attend this event is $50.00. We have sold 6 of our 10 tickets and have 4 tickets remaining. Please call Art Lawson on
